SUPER SUNDAY SPORTS UPDATE3/7: THESE NY TEAMS ARE ON A ROLL.

In the NBA, we hit all-star weekend, and here’s how the Knicks, and Nets finish their first-half of the season.

NETS:24-13

Kyrie returned with a 27-6-7 night, but the Spurs lived up the challenge, rallying from a 10 point deficit, to send the game to overtime, tied at 108. But then, James Harden took over, finishing off a 30-14-15 night in the extra frame, as the Nets notched first regular season win in San Antonio since 2002(won game 2 of 2003 NBA finals in San Antonio), going away 124-113. Two days later, James Harden succeeded in his return to Houston, putting up 29-10-14, while Kyrie Irving dropped 24 points, with Brooklyn puking away 132-114, to hand Houston their 12th straight loss.

KNICKS: 19-18:

The Derrick Rose-less Knicks, were whacked by the Spurs 119-93, and fell back to.500.But against the woeful Pistons, Julius Randle went for 27-16-7, as the Knicks finished the first-half, at 19-18, in a 114-104 home win at MSG.

Overall, both of these teams should be proud of their first-half performances, with the Knicks exceeding expectations by being above .500,and in playoff position with the five seed, while then Nets are the championship favorites.

RANGERS: 10-9-3

The Rangers have taken care of their division bottom-feeders. They were able to take down the Sabers 3-2, and sweep the Devils in New Jersey, 6-1, and 6-3, with Chris Kreider netting a hat trick, Alexi Lafrenire, and Kevin Rooney(The former NJD) scoring goals as well. As for the goaltending, an injury to Igor Shesterkin late in game one, after making 32 saves on 33 shots, meant Alexander Georgic had to come in, and seal the deal on game one, and take game two as well.

ISLANDERS: 15-6-4

All is fun, and games when you battle the Buffalo Sabers, with the Islanders taking acre of them, like Rodger Federer taking care of someone in a Tennis match, 5-2,5-2,5-2, with Mathew Barzal possibly scoring the goal of the year(watch). NY is now 6-0 against Buffalo this season.
