Day 4 of the 2018 Winter Meetings, was the last and it ended with the rule 5 draft which is basically teams drafting players into their systems.
The Yankees had a draft to forget, as they lost out on 4 prospects , while their rival Mets gained 4. Even their most hated rival the Boston Red Sox stole one from the grips of the Yankees.
Anyway, as for the majors news , there was a trade !!!!
It was a three team deal involving the Rays , Indians and Mariners , with the big trade chip being Edwin Encarnacion.
Mariners get :
DH Edwin Encarnacion ( from CLE)
Rays get :
3B Yandy Diaz ( From CLE)
Indians get :
DH Carlos Santana ( From SEA)
1B Jake Bauer’s ( FROM TB)
In my opinion, the Mariners won this trade , because even though they are in rebuild mode, this definitely boosts their process, by signing Encarnacion.
Edwin is a DH with a lot of power and could very well help out the youngsters in Seattle.
The Rays meanwhile, got a good young 3B in Yandy Diaz .
While the Indians, once again have Carlos Santana, who was traded for the second time this offseason( After being included in the deal that sent SS Jean Segura to the Phillies).
Carlos was on Cleveland from 2010-2017 before going to the Phillies in free agency . Now , he is back home in Cleveland!

Reliver Joe Kelly is leaving the “Joe Kelly fight club” in Boston, after sighing with the back to back NL champion, Los Angeles Dodgers for 3 years $25 million.
Surprised by both moves there.
The Boston Red Sox sent Pineapple Pizza to Yankee Stadium,as a holiday gift!
I think if it didn’t have Pineapple, the Yankees would have accepted it.
That’s a wrap on your 2018 Winter Meetings!
