THOR POWER! METS RIDE THOR, OFFENSE TO BIG WIN OVER RED-HOT NATS.

Noah Syndergaard fanned 10 and Jeff McNeil went deep as the Mets set the tone for a big series in Washington by defeating the Nationals 7-3.

The Mets got to Washington starter Jason Ross early and often as RBI singles by Joe Panik and Rene Rivera gave the Mets a 2-0 lead. In the top of the 4th, the Mets added 5 more as Jeff McNeil went deep for a 2runHR before JD Davis (2run double ) and Brandon Nimmo racked up RBI doubles to give the Mets a commanding 7-0 lead.

As for the Mets pitching, Noah Syndergaard was terrific as he went 7 innings of one run ball with 10 Ks. Nice bounces back for him after that horrific start against the Cubs.

After Asdrubal Cabrera went deep for a 3run HR in the 9th, the Mets called on Edwin Diaz to finish the deal and he did as the Mets took it 7-3

MVP: Noah Syndergaard
