THRILLING THURSDAY SPORTS UPDATE: ISLES, RANGERS ON ROLLS, NY FOOTBALL STINKS AND MORE!

Hey everyone, the reason I’m doing my weekly sports recap late, because I’ve been so wrapped up in Yeshivah Sports this week. But I am back now and here are my thoughts on things.

KNICKS: 1-7

We actually won a game! Bobby Portis poured in 28 points, with RJ putting up 20, as the Knicks rallied from a 33-15 1st quarter deficit to defeat the Chicago Bulls 105-98 at MSG on Monday (10/28).

Since that day that though, it’s been all downhill for the Knicks as they fell to the Orlando Magic( 95-83), the Boston Celtics (104-102), the Sacramento Kings (113-92 at home) and the Detroit Pistons (122-102).

RJ has kept his ROY campaign up, while Julia’s Randle , Marcus Morris and Kevin Knox have given the Knicks some bright spots during these games.

NETS 3-4:

The Nets followed up there crushing loss to the Memphis Grizzlies with a 118-108 home loss to the Victor Oladipo-less Indiana Pacers, before bouncing back with a 123-116 win over James Harden, Russel Westbrook and the Houston Rockets at Barclays Center.

Unfortunately, the inconsistency continued for the Nets, as they fell 113-109 to the Pistons in Detroit, before improving to 3-4 with a 138-120 win over the Zion-less Pelicans.

Kyrie Irving has continued to be outstanding for Brooklyn, while Taurean Prince , Caris Levert and Joe Harris have filled in nicely as well.

GIANTS: 2-7:

The losses just keep on coming, as Big Blue dropped another one to the Dallas Cowboys(5-3) 37-18 on “Monday night Football” at MetLife Stadium.

It was the same old stuff with Jones and Barkley showing signs of life, while the Giants defense couldn’t come up with stops.

You can blame this game on the “Black Cat”, who ran into the field in the 2nd quarter with the Giants leading 9-3. After the cat left, the Cowboys outscored the Giants 34-9. So maybe the reason why Big Blue lost is because of the “Black Cat curse”?

Well either way a loss is a loss and you can’t think about that with the “Snoopy Bowl” coming up this Sunday between the Giants and the Jets.

JETS:1-7

I see why the Giants are favored here in this Battle of NY that is coming up on Sunday.

If the Jets can’t defat the winless Dolphins , then who can they beat? It was a pathetic game, as they lost 26-18, with Sam Darnold nowhere to be found for most of the night and the defense looking as bad as it did all year considering this was the Dolphins they were going up against.

Coach Adam Gase is most likely to get the boot after this season with this loss, unless the Jets can salvage the season and defeat the Giants.

We will see what happens on Sunday.

ISLANDERS: 11-3-1

This team is absolutely insane!! 10 straight wins and it was just stopped as I was writing this by the Pittsburgh Penguins , who rallied from a 3-0 3rd period deficit for a 4-3 overtime win.

Yes, it’s a tough loss but at least the point streak continues! Also, it’s been mostly team hockey for the Islanders with Mathew Barzel, Andres Lee and Josh Bailey performing well for the guys In orange and blue.

RANGERS: 7-6-1

Thighs have peaked since that Boston game. The Rangers notched upset wins against the Tampa Bay Lightning (4-1) at MSG, before heading out on the road and improving to .500 with a 2-1 upset win over the Nashville Predators.

Yes, a 6-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators three days ago at MSG was a set back, but also a wake up call for this team.

The Rangers just followed up a 5-1 home win over the Detroit Red Wings with a 2-1 upset win over the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleh,NC. Henrik Lunquist has made 80 saves in the last 25 hours, while Alexander Gegorgiev, has also been great during this stretch for the NYR.

On offense, Artemi Pannarin , Pavel Buchnevich and Kappo Kakko, have been leading the way, while Jacob Trouba And Adam Fox have been leading the defensemen.

The Rangers are keeping themselves relevant in the Wild Card race, as expected.
