TRENDY TUESDAY SPORTS UPDATE 2/9/21 ISLES OUST RANGERS, TAKE BACK SEASON-SERIES LEAD.

The national spotlight is stallion Tom Brady, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl, and NY should be glad, because they have their own problems to take care of.

KNICKS: 11-14 (1-1 OVER WEEKEND)

An impressive win took place on Saturday night at home, against the Portland TrailBlazers, with 22 points out of Julius Randle, and the Knicks offense withstanding a 29 point outing from superstar Damian Lillard out of Portland. Unfortunately, the good vibes went away, when the Knicks lost a close one late on Sunday 109-103, to the Miami Heat at MSG. Still it’s impressive to see the fight this team has in them game after game.

NETS: 14-11(0-2 OVER WEEKEND)

Kevin Durant left Friday’s 123-117 loss to the Raptors twice due to COVID protocols, and was unavailable for Saturday’s elite showdown, in a 124-108 to the first-place Philadelphia 76ers.

ISLANDERS VS RANGERS:

The two 4-4-2 teams went at it on Monday at MSG, and in a goalies duel, saw Semeyon Varlamov once again shutout the Rangers, and outdo Igor Sheshterkin, in a 2-0 Islanders victory. The goals came 2:30minutes apart in the third period, with Matt Martin, and Casey Czikias, pouncing on a couple of Rangers defensive mistakes, with varlamov making 30 saves to Igor’s 28, in his third shutout of the season, and second aging the Bluehshirts.
