US OPEN DAY 4 RECAP: THE LEGEND OF COCO MOVES ON!

It was a packed Day 4 at the US Open headlined by a 15 year old so let’s get into it!


COCO-MANIA ROLLS ON:

15 year old Coco Gauff really never ceases to amaze us! She did it again on Thursday night when she defeated Timenia Babos in 2:30 minute thriller 6-2, 4-6, 6-4! The shot making was suit of this world and with a pro-Coco crowd on hand, the 15 year old somehow, someway got through it and won again!!

Up next for Coco is the best match of RD3. Her vs Naomi Osaka.


OSAKA ROLLS ON TO RD3, WILL FACE COCO.

Naomi got to the 3rd round and set up this blockbuster 3rd RD matchup on Saturday by steamrolling past Magdena Linette 6-2, 6-4.


HALEP OUSTED:

The NO 4 seed was ousted by American Taylor Townsend in a thrilling match 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(4). Townsend came into this match ranked 116th in the world. But somehow pulled this shocker off!


RAFA IS TOO GOOD:

Rafael Nadal didn’t even have to play on Thursday and he’s into the 3rd RD as his opponent Thanasi Kokkinakis retired before the match due to a right shoulder injury.

Up next for Rafa in RD3 is South Korean Hyung-Chung.


CILIC VS ISNER IN RD3:

Marian Cilic will take on American John Isner on Saturday after he defeated Chris Stebbe 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-3.
