Both semifinals weren’t even close as Danil Medvedev dispatched Grigor Dimitrov 7-6, 6-4, 6-3 while Rafael Nadal took out Mateo Barentini 7-6, 6-4, 6-1.
This sets up a thrilling final on Sunday ( 9/8) between the young 23 year old and the 18 time grand slam champion.
For Medvedev, aside from the semifinals he has had to grind through matches to get here with everyone of them needing 4 sets and about 2:30 hours to win it. As for Rafa, he has been tearing through opponents this tournament like scissors cutting through paper and it doesn’t seem he will stop now.
PREDICTION:
Medvedev is a fighter and won’t make it easy for Rafa. But in the end, I think Nadal has too much talent to lose this thing.
Rafa wins, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.
