Last night, it was the healthy stars and veterans who came through to lead the Yankees to victory. But tonight, it was the “New York Railriders” part of the team that were the stars, as the Yankees fed off their comeback victory over the O’s on Monday, with an 11-4 bashing of the O’s on Tuesday night, in front of another pro- Yankee crowd in Baltimore,Maryland.
Domingo German gave the Yankees length, and picked up his MLB leading 9th win of the season, while the Yankees offense was led by the Clint Frazier, who had his best game in a while smashing 2HRs, for 5RBIs.
The Yankees started strong, as DJ LeMahieu and Luke Voit singled for Gary Sanchez who crushed a 3runHR to left to give the Yankees an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning off Orioles starter David Hess, before the Orioles even got to bat.
In the 3rd, Gio Urshela continued to stay hot by crushing an RBI double to left field that scored Aaron Hicks, before Clint Frazier stepped up and delivered a 2runHR to center field to break his slump and give the Yankees a commanding 6-0 lead.
In the 5th, Frazier came up again and delivered a 3run blast once again to center field, that put the Yankees in laughter mode, as they took a 9-0 lead.
As for Domingo German, he was great once again, and though he gave up a 3runHR to Stevie Wilkerson in the 5th and made a throwing error, he was still effective and gave the Yankees length, as he went 5 innings, while only allowing 3 runs.
In the top of the 6th though, the Yankees got some runs back, as Gary Sanchez legged out a potential inning-ending double play ball to drive in a run, before Gleyber Torres continued his raking against the O’s this season with an RBI single that put the Yankees back in laughter mode as they took an 11-3 lead with a 2run 6th.
With an eight run lead, the Yankees went to David Hale to preserve the Yankees bullpen keep the Yankees up big, and finish out this game for the Yankees.
Hale did just that as he pitched 4 innings of 1 run ball, with his only big blemish being an RBI groundout by Hanser Alberto in the 6th that made the final score 11-4 Yankees.
