Zach Wheeler continued his dominant stretch of pitching by going 8 scoreless innings with 5Ks and the Mets offense backed him up with HRs by Wilson Ramos (3run HR) and Pete Alonso, as the Mets racked up their 5th straight win, their 12th in the last 13 and 18th in their last 24, 5-0 over the Marlins.
The win pulls the Mets( 58-56) to within 2 games of the second Wild Card spot in the NL.

THOUGHTS:
Wow! Mets continue to take care of business against the lowly Marlins. I think they keep it up and finish the sweep tomorrow night before their quest really begins over the weekend when they take on the team that is currently in that Wild Card spot in the Washington Nationals.

#LFGM !!!! Wheeler had a fantastic outing, with 8 scoreless inning pitched. Alonso hits his 36th blast, Ramos continues his hot hitting with a three run homer, while the Mets rested Rosario and conforto and still got the dub. Luis Guillorme was a magician during double plays , making fantastic turns and throws. Overall great ball! That’s 5 in a row, 12 of the last 13, and we are now to 2.0 games back from the WC spot.
