WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY SPORTS UPDATE: KNICKS, NETS FALLING, YANKEES, METS RISING AND MORE!

It’s been an eventful last couple days in sports. Let’s get into it!

KNICKS 17-40:

Tough road losses to the Rockets (103-92) and Hornets (107-101) has dropped the Knicks to 23 games under .500.

NETS 26-31:

Two very tough losses. First, BK allowed 74 points in the second half, as they blew a 19 point lead in a 115-113 loss to tie Orlando Magic, before failing to rally down 18 in Washington falling late 115-113 to the Wizards and the red-hot Bradley Beal, who became the first player this week to ever score 50+ points in back to back games and lose both. Against Brooklyn, he had 30. The Nets currently sit at 7th in the Eastern Conference, one game ahead of the Magic and 5 ahead of Washington who sits on the outside looking in.

YANKEES:

Some more ST takeaways:

1. Gerit Cole was amazing in his Yankee debut, as even though it was one inning, he was pumping gas all inning long, getting 2 strikeouts , a pop up, and a walk on 20 pitches (12 strikes). 2. Jordan Montgomery looks good, as he prepares to start the season as the Yankees 4th starter due to all the injuries. Jordan threw 2 scoreless innings this past week.

3. Reliver Jonothan Holder also looks good, as he prepares for a back end of the bullpen slot. 4. We saw two top Yankees pitching prospects in Luis Gil and Luis Medina. Both showed promise, with Gil escaping a bases loaded 0 outs jam, with only a run allowed and Medina also getting out of a jam holding the opposition to a single run as well.

5. Luis Cessa is going to be a bullpen piece for the Yankees this year according to Aaron Boone.

6. Masahiro Tanaka, Chad Green, Zack Brition and Tommy Kahlene did a great job of strutting their stuff today as they Yankees defeated the Nationals today 8-2 in a 5 inning rain-shortened game.

7. Yankees prospect Rosell Herrera continues to impress, as he drove in 2 runs this past week against the Blue Jays in a 4-1 win. 8.Miguel Andujar looked good in his LF debut. No errors! Only catches!

METS:

HR Tim Tebow!!! It has finally happened!!!

NBA:

The Bucks (50-8) have already clinched a playoff spot. Them clinching this early with 2 months remaining in the season, breaks the 2016 73-9 Warriors record as the earliest team to clinch a playoff spot in NBA history.

In what should be the first of many battles between superstars Lebron James and Zion Williamson, the Lakers outlasted they Pelicans 118-109 with LBJ leading his team with 40 points and Zion with 29 for NOLA. Lebron said after the game, that Williamson is “explosive” as in a big-time superstar in the making.
