Yeshivah Sports season is back! So let’s get Into the first week of action!
SAR STING FALCONS:
Despite goals by Ezra Habert and Jake Laniado and a valiant effort from Morris Hanan who was making his JV debut, penalty’s burned the Falcons in the end as they ran out of gas and allowed 3 late goals in a 5-2 loss to the SAR Sting on Tuesday night (10/29), in front of a raucous Falcons crowd on opening night.
Despite the loss, Flatbush still felt good about how they battled in this one until the very end against a Western Conference foe.
MVP: SAR offense
LVP: Flatbush penalty kill
LANIADO LIFTS FALCONS:
As goaltender Morris Hanan put it, “It was a big win for our team and gives us a lot of confidence moving forward “ . Morris registered his 1st shutout of his High School Hockey career, while Jake Linado provided the offensive heroics as the JV Hockey Falcons ousted the Ravens in 1-0 in an overtime classic.
The first 3 periods saw aggression from both teams and some great saves by both goalies, but ultimately, the double goose eggs stayed on he scoreboard and the game went into a 3 on 3 overtime session.
In the extra frame, Star defensemen Ezra Habert fed Jake Laniado who sent one home to make the Falcons bus a “Victory bus” and send the visitors back home with a 1-0 victory.
MVP: Morris Hanan
LVP: Ravens offense
37-0:
I’m just going to leave this question here and tell me what you think of it in the comments below.
In Elementary Hockey on Wednesday night (10/30) , the HAFTR Hawks set a record for most goals and most goals differential in a game in MJHHL history, as the destroyed the Share Torah Stars 37-0 at the Hawks Nest in Five Towns. The loss was also the largest in Share history.
So here’s my question, are the Stars that bad or was it unsportsmanlike of HAFTR to keep on scoring?
MVP: HAFTR offense
LVP: Share defense
HANC STARTS REVENGE SEASON ON RIGHT FOOT:
The cloud of last years 5-0 championship loss to the HALB Lions still hovered around the Hurricanes as they opened there season at the “Tornado” against the YDE Thunder on Wednesday night (10/30)
The result was a hungry team that looks to win it all this year as they pounded the visitors 11-0 with superstar Eliyahu Yitzhaki going off with at least a hat trick in this one( Kind of lost count with his individual tally but he did have at least 5 goals).
Despite the loss, it was nice to see Eddie Elbaz coaching once again as he signed with the YDE Thunder in the offseason.
MVP: Yitzhaki
LVP: YDE offense
KASSAB RECORDS HATTY, BUT FALCONS FALL:
Albert Kassab recorded a hat trick in his MYJHHL debut but the young elementary hockey Falcons fell to the YHT Hat Trix 6-4 on the road in Five Towns on Wednesday night (10/30).
MVP: YHT offense
LVP: Flatbush goaltending

MDY SOARS PAST RAMBAM:

The Varsity b-ball North Shore Stars overcame a double-digit 4th Quarter deficit this week to defeat the Flatbush Falcons 57-49 at the Falcons nest to open both teams season.
PS: An individual article will be published soon on the YDE-Flatbush Varsity Basketball game
