Okay, let's get real here. My skating skills may have looked a bit rough out there on the ice. But to be completely honest, I've been facing some challenges with my vision. I'm actively working on getting better eyewear to improve my game. I want to express my gratitude to all my teammates for taking it easy on me during practice. Your support means a lot. You wonder why I'm hard in myself? Well in certain practice situations, my mind treats it like a game. So I want to have that intensity and awareness. I know practice is how we improve, but for me things like being a step slow mental lapses or other fundamental mistakes are inexcusable.
But despite the skating hiccups, I had an absolute blast on the ice. It was an incredible experience practicing with the team and meeting our new coach, former USPHL player, and assistant coach for Montclair ST, Adam Clowe. He's a great guy and teacher. Although I must admit, there was a moment when I nearly knocked him down, but he handled it like a pro.
I have to give a huge shoutout to Sol, who blazed through and conquered the gauntlet – it was inspiring to watch. Learning how to hit properly was a valuable lesson, and I'm eager to keep working on it.
Kudos to our goalies who had their work cut out for them during practice. And a special congratulations to "99" Meir Drazin for his fabulous goals – your skills are truly impressive.
I can't forget to acknowledge Tropp for his impressive shots and the bearhugs that follow. And Greeny, thanks for your excellent passing and skating, especially when we were working on that advocate drill.
Joe, you make those push-ups look easy, and that's no small feat.
I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that you all were amazing on the ice today. To those I may have brought down, I apologize, but let's keep working together and getting better. We're more than just a hockey team; we're Yeshiva University's team. Every time we step out on the ice, we're not just playing a sport; we're making a Kiddush Hashem.
Here's to more practices, more growth, and more unforgettable moments on the ice. We're in this together, and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of this team.
