Funny thing took place in shiur today. Rabbi was giving us halachot on Shofar to kick off the class, but used a story from the summer back in his native Denver, and within minutes, we’d gone from the original topic to now talking about cup-winning Avalanche players Gabriel Landeskog, norris trophy winner Cale Makar, and Jack Johnson baptizing his kids inside the cup during his day with the Stanley cup…. Skipping details here, the point was ultimately connected to how some have the custom to blow the shofar all of Elul while others don’t, and to respect that.
